The company is comprised of dance students in their final year of studying for a BA Hons Dance at the University of Chichester. What can 3Fall offer? 3fall’s Spring 2012 tour will be performing various works by emerging choreographers including Aya Kobayashi, Cai Tomas and Liz Richards, as well as pieces by developing choreographers. 3Fall are also excited to offer educational workshops led by company members, all of which have experience teaching dance or have taken the ‘Teaching Dance Technique’ module as part of their degree. Performance Information Duration The performance lasts approximately 90 minutes with a short interval. However, this can be adjusted according to individual requirements. Publicity 3Fall can provide posters and leaflets to publicise the touring show as well as programs tailored for each individual performance. Technical Information The company tours with its own technicians. To run the performance for 3Fall the following will be required; lighting sufficient to provide cover, colour wash and specials, white cyc, dressing and dance space for 15 dancers (2 male and 13 female), a minimum of 24 dimmers, a cd player and PA system sufficient to the size of the performance space. A 13 amp plug socket in stage space or near (preferably stage left) is a necessity. We will be in touch to discuss our technical requirements with you. If you have a tech spec please send it to contact info listed on page 3. Workshop Information 3Fall offer various workshops tailored for different age and dance abilities. The workshops are perfect for GCSE/A-Level and BTEC students and budding dancer/choreographers. The workshops that are offered will explore works from the touring repertoire and develop creative and choreographic skills. It will also give those attending an opportunity to improve their contemporary dance technique. Workshop A: Technique Workshop Focusing on contemporary dance, participants will take part in a structured technique workshop, learning set phrases of movements in order to improve their dance technique and performance skills. Workshop B: Improvisation and Choreography Workshop Focusing on the creative process of choreography through improvisational tasks. This workshop will enable students to develop their own creative skills and/or develop movement phrases from the repertory. Workshop C: Repertory Workshop Participants will explore work from the current touring repertory. Students will be taught sections from the professional works created, enabling their performance skills and giving an insight into the performance world. The workshops last approximately 90 minutes and hold up to 25 participants per session. Workshops can also be booked as a half day (3 and a half hours including 2 x 15 minute breaks) or as a full day (6 hours including 1 hour for lunch and 2 x 15 minute breaks). These workshops can be tailored to the school or companies requirements. A clear suitable space is required with a CD player, or MP3 connection. (Ideally not a classroom with carpeted or concrete flooring) A member of teaching staff should be present throughout each workshop. Additional members of support staff normally available for students with special or particular educational needs will also be required if necessary.
